As you continue to grow and evolve it’s important that you understand how powerful you are. If you were born in God’s image as it says in the book of Genesis, then you have the power to create, you have the power to heal, and have power to take control of your emotions. And this is for anyone who is trying to overcome depression, anxiety, and who are living in fear and worry. You see you are not born with depression or fear, you never heard of a baby being diagnosed with depression as soon as they come out of the womb. But over time as people grow and mature and as life happens or is not happening for them they become sad and you allow your self to sit in that sad space day after day. And then you take on this woe is me attitude because you feel as though life is not fair. Why does everything keep happening to me!? The word says I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:12)
Stop allowing your circumstances to dictate your mood. Yes, it’s ok to feel sad, it ok to be angry we are human beings and we have emotions but don’t sit there!! Tomorrow is a new day. Troubles don’t last long. Every part of your life is important, if you’re going through trials instead of asking God “why me” ask God what do you need me to learn in this situation? We have to get over ourselves and our own problems and stop taking things so personal. Yes, I know it hurts, Yes I know he betrayed you, Yes I know you miss your mother, Yes I know you feel as though your parents have failed you but if we could take a moment to just get off of ourselves and realize it is never about you! But its about what God wants to do through you. Your entire life is a testimony to Gods grace and goodness so that when you over come you are able to share your story to others who may be trying to overcome those same struggles. But if you never over come then no one will ever get a chance to hear your story.
That’s why its important to understand how powerful you are and start speaking life into your situation and into your circumstances. What I mean by speaking life is knowing the promises that God has for you and speaking them over your life. I am the head and no the tail, I am more than a conquer, I am strong and not weak If you been clinically diagnosed with depression and you allow yourself to live with that label and you truly believe you are depressed then you are only bringing into your life more depressing thoughts, sadness, and other negativity. Stop claiming things that do no belong to you! God never gave us the sprit or depression, fear or anxiety those are all man made symptoms that people have developed because they do not know how to deal with life!! For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7) You see happiness is a choice, you have to choose to be happy every single day despite your circumstance. March into your happiness and step out of depression!
Here are three tips to help you overcome depression:
- Wake up every morning grateful and thankful. Speaking positivity over your life. You see the scripts say: Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit of it (Proverbs 18:21) If you need some ideas on what to speak over yourself I am posting affirmations the whole month of march on my social media handles. - It does not matter how you started it matters how you finish. Who cares about what happened to you in your past. Your past does not define you. What are you going to do with your life today? Understand each day is a new day to start fresh.
- Stop making other people responsible for your happiness. You are the only one who can make you happy. Stop blaming your past. Those days are long gone that is why they are called your past ands tart taking control of your future.
