As we continue to grow and evolve it’s important that we are seeking confirmation from God before we are making any major decisions. Major decisions may include, before getting married, before taking a new job, before relocating, moving or whatever decision you may be facing in your life. I love the story of Gideon in the book of Judges in the bible. Gideon prayed to God and said I know your promised me to help rescues Israel, but I need proof. I f you really want me to help Israel, then tomorrow morning let there be dew on the wool but let the stone floor be dry.
And guess what the next day there was water on the wool. So I ask, how many of us are going to God and saying God I need proof this is your will and not my own selfish desires and ambition. God I know what you promised me, but I need a sign that this is your will for me in this season. God I am scared but I need to know that your presences will be with me because I do not want to go anywhere where your presence is not!
As the story continues you will read that the one confirmation was not enough for Gideon so he prayed and asked God to give him another sign and God gave him a second sign. You see God wants us to test his his ability so we can witness the works of God directly in our own lives. Stop seeking validation from people and start seeking confirmation from God for your next move.
Here are three tips to help you seek God’s confirmation:
- If you do not ask you will not receive. Ask God to send you a specific sign. And he will send you a confirmation just like he did for Gideon. Most people are waiting for God to show up in a burning bush like he did for Moses and that is not always the case. So they end up missing the sign. But the holy spirit is always talking to us and giving us signs most people just miss them.
- How do I know that once I received a sign it’s from God? It’s simple because you asked him for it. Stop thinking everything in your life is just a coincidence because it’s not. Everything happens for a reason.
- Once you receive your sign be obedient to God’s will for your life.
Thank You God for Progression,
